The final Harry Potter came out this last weekend and as excited as I have been to see it, I have also been in denial that it is ending. Harry Potter has been in my life since 5th grade and I’m a little sad to let him go. Okay I’m being a little dramatic…but I do feel like my childhood has officially come to an end. A little too cliché for you? Well get a life, Jerkweed.
This was when I was 12 and Little Brother was 2 years old. I was Hermione and he was ‘arry.
Now 22 years old and after dressing like Hermione for 10 years I decided to give Luna Lovegood a try and I must say, she is quite brilliant.
Husband did not dress up, but he already has big glasses AND a scar on his forehead….so he’s just Harry, always.
One of the things I will miss most is seeing everyone else in costume. This family dressed up as follows: Dad is Filch; Mom is Umbridge; Son is Harry; Daughter is Ginny. The dad actually had a lantern and everywhere he went he ran like Filch does in the movie and glared everyone down. It was perfect.
Thanks Harry Potter, it’s been real.
