We just spent a week in the lovely Evergreen State. A whole week, people. And we flew. This doesn’t usually happen. It’s usually starts out by waking up before the sun driving for 12+ hours straight and then after a measly two to three days we turn right back around. This year I was determined to make it last longer. Especially since Husband had taken BOTH summer semesters and our summer didn’t seem to begin until August. I also figured we deserved a good ol’ plane ride this time too. After my new internship and Husband’s raise we deserved it….right?
I was stuck in the middle seat with Husband on the aisle. I always stress a little about who is going to be sitting next to me. I’ve been in the situation one too many times where your arm rest buddy probably should’ve sucked it up and paid for TWO seats. Luckily the sweetest little Asian lady came walking down the aisle. Husband stood up and stepped out of the row so she could sit down and she said, “Oh, such gentlemen”. Yes, yes he is. You know what is good about sitting next to an Asian on the airplane? First, they are TINY. I mean really she should only have to pay half price for her seat. She probably could’ve brought her sister along and the two of them could’ve sat side by side in one seat. Second, they smell really good, or at least they don’t smell at all. Third, she was so quiet and just fell asleep like a good little arm rest buddy should. (Nope, she didn’t even use the arm rest.) Love her.
This was my other arm rest buddy. He smells pretty good too. Just editing away….
We finally made it to the big city. We headed straight for Auntie’s house and went to bed as visions of Pike Place Chowder danced in our heads…
Best. Chowder. Ever. Seriously. I’ve become a chowder foodie. Can you become a foodie for a specific type of food? We ordered Clam and Salmon Chowder…..best breakfast. We got to spend one day in Seattle. We chose to do Pike Street – obvs – and then Seattle’s Underground Tour. Sorry, no photos from the tour I must’ve been too busy looking for ghosts.
This guy is one of my favorites. He’s been showing off his skillz for years.
Outside the EMP…
Outside the Space Needle…I have yet to take Husband to the top, but at $18 a pop I think he can wait.
See this harbor? Yeah we know a lady who owns a boat here. One of the largest. Believe it.
Next stop Ocean City!!
After a little food for the road of course. Paseo Caribbean was our stop of choice. It is possibly the best sandwich in the world. I actually don’t want to call it a sandwich. It really should have it’s very own category. This is a MUST stop of any Seattle bound human.
Oh and of course you need dessert Cupcake Royale, please. Lavender is the flavor of choice.
Our short trail to the beach was about a 3-4 minute walk, and it was almost as gorgeous as the beach itself.
What do you do at a cold beach? Well, you fly kites! After you get them untangled of course….
Auntie’s beach babe…and other sand angels.
I’d like to report that we all participated in a good deed. This crab was being attacked by seagulls when we found it. Back left last leg joint was it’s only casualty as we safely guided him back to sea.
Husband made a time lapse. You’ll see.
This is the aftermath back in the Beehive State. I very much dislike unpacking.
